Oh, the joy…

of a new project on the needles! I’ve felt overwhelmed by choices lately; those empty needles saying, “Pick me! Pick me!” How to decide what to cast on? I really need something fairly mindless as take-along knitting, but the siren song of a new design project is calling more loudly than anything else. So here’s the yarn…

I love the grayed green that plays so nicely with the rose. Luscious!

How about you? Do you need a new project? Something for Mom, perhaps? Lorajean (Knitted Wit) has some really cute pedicure sock kits in her Etsy shop, Falkland sport yarn and pattern and nail polish, lots of different colors to choose from. There’s still time to knit them, or just give your knitting mom the kit!

Not into pedi socks? There’s enough yarn to make regular socks instead, if that’s your way. The best part is that it’s my pattern, ZigZag Lace Pedi (or not!) Socks. They look like this:

Here are a crop of Falkland sport socks, including (l to r) Seafoam Sock, ZigZag Lace Pedi Sock, Entrelac Sock.

Come cast on with me! What will your new project be?

  1. Realizing mother’s day is drawing nigh, I am working on a multi-colored tote bag from a Japanese pattern. The instructions were minimal, so I’m redoing everything … It’s a lot of fun!

  2. I’m still working on my *old* project — Hopscotch socks. They are finally moving along pretty well.

The pedi socks are really cute.

  3. I’m in the midst of a redesign that is driving me nuts. Your post about socks made me want to try something I’ve never done before. So I went to my LYS, picked up some tiny needles and a ball of sock yarn. Here goes nothing!

  4. Fun! I’m working on a cardi that’s stil new enough to be exciting, and in the planning/sketching phase of a pair of socks for Father’s Day. Mom got my last pair of socks, so Mother’s Day will have to be something non-woolly this year.

  5. I’m working on a stole. And Brian’s sweater. I’m a knitting bigamist. 😉

  6. Lovely colored yarn!!! Not sure about the pink, but, with a tint of green, it does look very inviting.

Thanks for the pedi socks idea. I think I may just knit a few pairs up and send to mom along with things I’ve already gathered for her 😀

I would love to cast on a me-project but need to finish a shop sample and more fudging on a few design ideas…play time is just around the corner. But then, it’s so beautiful out. Knitting just doesn’t seem to be on the priority list, right now :0(
