Parquetry Cowl

Discontinued: I’ve removed this pattern from sales so I could re-design it as a cowl and hat set for my new book, Brioche Knit Love: 21 Skill Building Projects from Simple to Sublime. Look for the Iced Latte Cowl and Iced Latte Hat in my book!

The Parquetry Cowl is knit in the round using two coordinating colors. Garter stitch and brioche stitches alternate to form a checkerboard pattern, like a parquet floor. The brioche stitches are easy; they give a very gentle introduction to brioche knitting.

Parquetry is a quick and simple knit, perfect for gift giving. Even if you’re the recipient!

I knit mine with two skeins of Hazel Knits Lively DK, a bouncy and round yarn that is a pleasure to knit. You could also knit this with worsted weight yarn; just adjust your needles to make a fabric you like.

I designed this cowl for The Fiber Gallery for the 2019 Puget Sound Yarn Tour, and now it has come back to me. I hope you enjoy knitting it as much as I did!
