Beanstalk Scarf and Mitts

Beanstalk Scarf and Mitts

The Beanstalk Scarf was designed to show off one 50g skein of Indochine, Lantern Moon’s exquisite 100% silk sport weight yarn. An additional 50g skein is all that’s needed for a pair of lacy fingerless mitts. Wet blocking will highlight the lacy leaves and trellis in your scarf; wearing the mitts will block them to a perfect fit for your hand. You’re ready for a garden party!

Scarf is knit flat; mitts are knit in the round. DPNs, magic loop, two circulars: knitter’s choice.

The thumb gusset grows organically from a variation of my favorite leaf motif, the same one that I used in my Garland Shawl. The lace in the mitts is open and will accommodate hand circumference from 6 to 8.5 inches. When the mitts are blocked for a wider hand, adding length will provide additional finger coverage. There is enough yardage in one skein to make the mitts long enough to do so.

Charts and line by line instructions for each scarf and each mitt are given. Gauge is 5.5 st/inch in garter stitch.

Click the button to purchase the pattern through Ravelry; payment is through paypal for a pdf download.
