I’m in Spain, Madrid and Alicante. Coming home soon. But I wanted to share this:

I happened upon El Gato Negro near Plaza Mayor in Madrid.

It’s a cute shop, and they had some fun speckle and space dyed yarn, too.

It matched my flower power jacket. I had to buy some! It’s cotton, sport weight, 2 100g skeins. I wonder if I can get the pink to pool a bit. It’s a pretty short color pop. We shall see, later.

I’m coming home soon. Rose City Yarn Crawl starts Thursday, and I’ll be at For Yarn’s Sake on Thursday with a trunk show! See my latest designs, and get my book, Brioche Knit Love, if you haven’t already.
Also, I’m teaching Brioche Pastiche, beginning brioche, on Sunday April 26 at For Yarn’s Sake. Come learn brioche in person with me, me, me!

WTF ??? – in SPAIN ? I like the way you just casually drop that rivetting fact as if it’s all in a day’s work !! 😀
Stringer and I stayed in Madrid. Loved it. The Carlos V hotel. What do you think of the slightly ‘sour’ taste of the milk ?
You are the busiest professional of them all. Be safe and happy in your travels …
Yes, Spain! It seems like a lifetime ago; I was crazy busy through the first half of March. I squeezed a trip to the Oregon coast in there, too, but it wasn’t knitting related so it never made it to the blog.
I didn’t taste the milk, the only milk I had was in my coffee! Café con leche, por favor.
Getting ready to head to Nashville on Thursday for Nash Yarn Fest this weekend.
Wow! I can’t believe it! I’ve seen that shop in Madrid! It was years ago and in those days, the yarn shops had all the yarn wrapped in plastic bags, so it wasn’t as enticing as it looks now! What a fun memory-thanks for sharing and have a good trip home!
They’re making progress! Out of the plastic bags, but you still don’t really get to touch it. Maybe next visit!
Agree. Had to buy the yarn.
What a great trip! And you definitely needed some souvenir yarn 🙂
I just don’t know when I’ll be caught up enough to knit with my souvenir yarn! Soon, I hope.
