Staghorn is a 2-color brioche convertible cowl/hat, knit in the round from the bottom up. It features a large Staghorn motif.

The piece begins with simple 2-color brioche rib. You can knit the whole piece in brioche rib, or move on to add the Staghorn motif. A row of eyelets near the top lets you convert this piece from a cowl to a hat with a simple drawstring. This design was featured in a skill-building collaboration with yarn from Sweet Paprika Designs.

Staghorn Cowl Hat is knit with 2 colors of worsted weight yarn. The cowl/hat is knit with 140 yards/128 meters dark color, 66 yards/60 meters light color heavy worsted weight yarn. Shown in Sweet Paprika Andante (100% superwash merino wool, 4oz/110g/195 yards/178m), Jacaranda (LC) and Deep Purple (DC).

The pattern also contains instructions for a wider cowl, if you’re not interested in converting to a hat.
