How’s that for alliteration?

pippi earflap cap

I finished the second Pippi hat, and took notes this time! I played around with earflap length and placement, and added a larger size. I just finished editing the pattern; it is available as a Ravelry download. See pattern page for details.

Good night!

  1. Love the color choices with this one too!

Oh! After seeing Pippi 1, Judy B at last week’s knit night was working on a hat for #1 Son and she did an i-cord wrap around where you have your double-crochet. Something to think about for those out there that don’t crochet.

  2. Now when I feel brave enough to try colorwork I will be getting this pattern.

  3. What a cute hat, I’m glad you made the pattern available.

  4. Once again great work, and thanks for sharing. I’m going to have to bone up on some courage to work all that colorwork!

  5. Great pattern! I’m going to go find it now. I’ve had a few requests from the family. I am designing one for the husband that is also earflapped knit with handspun Pygora/Corredale. I’ll post when finished.

  6. Cool….
Yes, this would be great for handspun, I think.

  7. I think I like the colors in this one more than the other one.

  8. Both hats are fantastic!!! The colors are great!

  9. Great hat! It’s even worth doing colorwork for.

  10. What a beautiful pattern! I love hats with ear flaps!! 🙂

  11. Love it! Just downloaded and am off to the lys to buy supplies (like I don’t have enough already…)

  12. I don’t know which one I like better, they’re both great colors.

  13. What a great design! I love the use of colors and the earflaps. Earflaps are essential for a hat in my book.
