Not Hawaii; this time I’m at the Oregon Coast for our annual Crafty Moms Weekend. This is the 10th annual gathering. There are 12 of us this year; some of us are knitting, others are sewing, beading, making cocktails. It was glorious yesterday when we arrived, 60 and sunny.
The sunset was gorgeous.
And this morning’s view was equally lovely, through the window as I knit. I love the reflection of clouds on the wet sand.
I just got to the finishing on half a scarf, and figured out I should have cast on 2 more stitches than I did. I had 2 prototypes but I knit from the graph and didn’t check which one, because i thought they were the same width. Oops. 7452 stitches, to the frog pond…
But first! The winners of the Lantern Moon silk needle cases are…Sheila and Stephanie! I’ll email you to get your snail mail addys. I also want to give a shout out to Sheila for her beautiful Mergoum shawl design. So lovely!
That is a LOT of stitches… Bummer! Lovely walks on the beach balance it all out 🙂 Good you had your own salmon as Karla was sold out!
Frogging is no fun! Other than that, sounds like a great weekend at the coast! Where do you like to stay on the Oregon Coast? I’m trying to plan a girls weekend with some friends, and looking for ideas on where to stay 🙂
Check out the Lincoln City/Newport area. You have the outlet stores, fun local stores to wander through, lots of seafood options. Lincoln City also on the weekends has art glass floats you can try to find. http://www.oregoncoast.org/finders-keepers/
Unfortunately, I think the yarn stores for the area have closed. So bring enough yarn!
60 and sunny, ah man I always miss the nicest days on the coast. Enjoy!
Must have been a beach weekend for knitters! Another knitter friend had a very similar sunset photo from Depoe Bay. 🙂
Bummer about the frogging!
Not good at anything but cooking, but you can send cocktail lady out here once the howling winds and snow are done.
You are making me long for the beach! How lovely to get together with other knitters!
