Here's a further hint on hiding the join: start picking up stitches a bit sooner than you think you would on that diagonal line. You can always remove them if you have too many, but it's hard to add them at the end of the pickup because it will pull you out of alignment from where you want your diagonal to fall. Sounds clear as mud, but you'll see when you get there. You'll have to start with a new piece of yarn for the pickup to do this. The first time I picked up, I did it without cutting the yarn after the 3NBO, but that commits you to starting in the right place, and you don't know exactly where that place is yet (because you're not counting from the grafted join).

Have fun!

Love the Quincy & thanks for the idea about hiding the join. I'm a big fan of the TNBO, so if I can use it - I will! :0) Just waiting for some yarn so I can finish my 1st Quincy. Love the stocking too - it reminds me that I need to go & pull out the stockings I started (but have yet to finish) for my boys - knitting I'd done early in my knitting 'career' & needs some work.

Wow you are busy! Thanks for listening at knit night. It was really helpful to talk about all the dye stuff. The idea of a drop in fee is a great idea and I'm going to bring that up. I had a great time at knit night!
